So, before you choose the plans for your pergola, here are a few questions that you are going to want to ask yourself.
Question #1 – What Type of Wood Do You Want to Use? – First of all you should ask yourself what type of wood you plan on using for the project. This can actually affect what pergola plans you will need to build the pergola. Knowing the type of wood that you want to use can make a difference. Natural woods look wonderful; however, if you don’t want to pay so much, there are wood composites that are much cheaper that you can choose from.
Question #2 – Are You Planning on Having Plants Grow on It? – Another question to ask when you are trying to find the best pergola plans is if you want to have plants growing on your pergola. This can really make a difference in the plans that you will need. There are some plants, such as roses, that are quite heavy, so you’ll need to make sure that the pergola you build is going to be sturdy enough to actually support it without causing any problems.

Question #4 – Do You Want Furniture with It? – There are some pergola plans that actually come with build in furniture as a part of the plan, so you’ll need to decide if this is something that you really want. Having built in furniture is a great idea, especially if you want to sit under your pergola, but it may not be your choice. So, make sure you make this decision before you get the pergola plans.
